About Us

Evolution of PrepCan-Online Newcomer Information Centre

In September 2015, PrepCan was launched to offer virtual pre-arrival employment services for government-approved Canadian immigrants, while they were still in their home country. In 2017, 1552 clients from over 40 different countries were assisted through the PrepCan program. The pre-arrival program ceased operations on December 31st, 2018.

Starting in January 2019, the program is now known as PrepCan-Online Newcomer Information Centre and provides virtual post-arrival settlement and employment orientation, information, and referrals to Permanent Residents or Convention Refugees. This program is specifically customized for those residing or planning to reside in Ontario and is funded by IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).
